Use these phrases constantly. You can’t say them enough. Say them to your kids right now as soon as you finish reading this, and never stop saying them.

Communication skills are not just about business. The most important place you can exhibit effective communication skills is at home. Here are some power phrases you can use at home in abundance. Use them all the time, every day.

1. “I love you so much–no matter what–always.”

2. “You can always count on me.”

3. “You’re beautiful just the way you are.”

4. “Your job is to dream as big as you can. My job is to help you achieve your dreams. I’ll do my job if you do yours.”

5. “You can do it. You can do anything.”

6. “Failure is just one step closer to the solution.  Everybody fails.  The only real failure is not trying. Failure is just part of the process—it means you’re doing it right.”

7. “Being courageous doesn’t mean not being afraid, it means doing what’s right even though you’re afraid.”

8. “You’re never alone. I’ll always be here for you.”

9. “Why not?”

10. “You’re perfect.”

And one more thing–

Be sure and do what you tell your children you will do.  They count on you, because they should–and because you tell them they can.

Dan, as I read this–I’m ashamed to say I don’t reinforce my kids at all–the way I should.
Thanks for the thoughts; see you in Memphis

Boy, you have really improved things on your web site!!! It was good before….but, now….Wow!

By the way, some feedback….since you have been working with our company to improve their customer skills….Normally, when my church members approach me at church about my company, it is to file a complaint. However, several of my church members complimented our call center the other day. Now, put that in light of the fact I have never heard anyone compliment our call center….In particular, thanking us for being so pleasant on the phone and things as simple as 1) thanking them for calling with their concern/problem and 2) asking if there were any others issues/concerns they could help them with while on the phone. Skills I know you have been working with them on….Thanks.
