Well now, I think that Mr. Witte's comments are right-on! The only change I might make is--I'd move directly to the castration part, collecting my $200 as I passed GO.
I'll be anxious to hear Dan's response to the original writer--and perhaps to Joe....

First, confront this jackass 1 on 1. Some people, when confronted privately, tend to soften. Speak clearly, give them speficifs about their actions, how they hurt, and ask them kindly to alter methods. If this doesn't work, then you have an obligation to go to your superior and make a formal complaint. If your supervisor doesn't take action, make a written complaint, and encourage others how are frustrated to do the same. if that doesn't work... castrate him.

Dan, you gave us this technique last year in Memphis, and I tried it--just once--on the office crier. She hasn't shed a tear in the office, since. I think it's important to save this technique for repeat offenders. You wouldn't want to use it if someone really was having a serious problem and a bad day! It's those chronic criers that you need to shut down, right?

Is this called sidling up? IT'S VERY FLIRTATIOUS, and I love it! Basically women can outwit men if they just manipulate them, and flirtation is a good start. I have a sister who just bought a Persian rug at wholesale because she sidled up to the salesman, touched his elbow ever so gently, and lowered her head just a tiny bit, as though she was embarrassed. He thought she was flirting, when actually she was negotiating, and she won the negotiations. BTW, she's 69 years old, and he was in his forties. NOW THAT'S FUNNY! I'm in my 60's, and still learning about men and about communication. Thanks, Honey.

Marty, you are the man. If everyone in your organization used this script, your customers would all be impressed with the level of professionalism LogoDesignGuru would project. You would go from A to A+--a grade to which you've been accustomed since Nativity Grade School in Fargo, ND.

In the podcast, I said the line is, "Miracles can only be seen in the light," instead of the actual quote, which is "Miracles are seen in the light." Just thought I would clarify. A Course in Miracles isn't for everyone. Having said that, I will tell you that I've personally received a lifetime of inspiration on many levels from the Course, and would recommend it to anyone who seeks truth, peace, happiness, and fulfillment in life.

I agree with the guy who just wrote, and I know one technique you'd never use even tho that that guy recommended it in his article. You'd never tell anybody to use sarcasm. I've never been to one of your seminars, but I've read all your blogs and heard all your podcasts and you'd never tell someone to embarras somebody publicly just to shut them up. There are better ways.

Hi Dan!
I went to one of your onsite seminars last year, and I can absolutely tell which two you thought were awesome. Please tell me if I'm right.
The first one--begin by examining YOURSELF! (Personal compass and all that--I still work with mine, btw)
And the third one--Speak in "I" messages!
Did I get them?
